Advice for Road Runners: The New Balance Men's Fresh Foam X 860 V14 Running Shoes are designed to be very comfortable and supportive. The 860 V14 have a completely updated midsole design.
Underfoot Feel
The 860 V14's midsole contains two layers of foam, consisting of:
- A top layer of softer foam - to enhance comfort and protection; and
- A bottom layer of firmer foam - to slow down the speed and amount of pronation.
A rocker profile should help to ensure smooth and efficient movement through the gait cycle.
In contrast to previous versions of this style, the 860 V14 does not feature a medial post. Instead, they have an EVA film (named Stability Plane) running through the two layers of foam.
The New Balance 860 has been a very popular series of road running shoes. When major changes are made to the design of shoes - they need to work well. New Balance's extensive testing makes them confident this new technology works better than the previous support structure.
Upper Fit
The New Balance 860 V14 Running Shoes have a supportive engineered mesh upper. This should mirror the structured feel of the midsole.
Ideal Run Type
The New Balance Fresh Foam X 860 V14 Running Shoes are suitable for a wide range of road runs. The midsole should feel relatively soft and bouncy, and should offer a lot of stability. As a result, they should be well suited to short and long-distance runs at both slow and steady paces.

Sizing Advice
Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone's feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles.
Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb's width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes).
